Samuels played a blistering knock of 74 runs off just 54 deliveries to take his team to victory. Barbados Tridents won the toss and elected to bat first against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots team. The St Kitts pitch was swinging in the early stage of the innings that gave the hosting teams bowlers control the innings without giving much runs in the first six over spell. Sohail Tanvir controlled the innings for the Kitts, but from the other side runs were flooding. Wickets started to fall when spin was introduced by Samuels. Shahid Afridi and T Shamsi were the bowlers who started to destroy the opponents by picking wickets in regular interval of time. Finally, the Tridents ended their innings at 135 for eight in 20 overs. Afridi picked three and T Shamsi ended with a figure of 10 for 4 in his four over spell. Chasing a target of 136 to win the match opener Lewis was dismissed early in the innings. But, the partnership between opener Guptill and Samuels helps the hosts to win the match in the 18th over. Samuels remained not out after scoring 74 runs with 6 fours and 3 big hits. Guptill was dismissed after scoring 45 runs from 35 balls with 2 fours and 2 six.
