The match was played between
FINLAND and DENMARK at the Telia Parken Stadium in Copenhagen. It was started
on time and was going well till the 42nd minute, when Denmark
midfielder Christian Eriksen collapsed in the field. He had a cardiac arrest
and was given CPR on the pitch. On the 42nd minute, the Demark team
had a throw-in and ball hit Eric’s knees. Suddenly, a shock for the team mates
and all gathered near him as medical emergency team rushed to the area and gave
the required treatment. The team formed a ring around the player,
helping the medical team to give emergency treatment. As
per the photographs by the newspapers, he raised his hand on a stretcher, as he
was carried from the pitch.
Following the medical emergency, the match officials decided to
suspend the match as it would not be good to continue the match after a
shocking incident happened on the field. The match is now suspended reason is “due
to medical emergency”.
