A must win situation for the Mumbai team to grab a chance to
play the playoffs has won the match in the final over. Batting first the Mumbai
Indians had a bad start losing four wickets for the score of 79 runs. Pollard
and Pandya played some good shirts in the end to help the hosts reach 171 runs.
It was Pandya who scored 60 off just 30 balls to help the team reach the mark.
From the other end Pollard played a sheet anchor role to see that no wickets
fell after the fall of Rohit Sharma. Chasing a target of 172 to win the match
the Kolkata team were on top till the last over with 12 runs required of 6
balls. A surprise from Rohit made Pollard to ball the last over. Yousuf Pathan
was dismissed in the first ball and then a four by U Yadav put the team again
in problem. But the last three dough balls saved the match for the Mumbai team
and winning the match by 5 runs.
