The visiting captain P Khadka won the toss and elected to
field first in a flat pitch. Netherlands
lost the first wicket in the fifth over of the match and required a partnership
to be in the game. There was no stopping for the batsmen on crease with some
fours and six hit around the ground. The second wicket partnership of 131 runs
between opener MR Swart and BN Cooper took the team in a good position to post
a big total. They ended the innings by scoring 172 runs. Swart scored 76 runs from
59 balls and Cooper with 66 was the batsmen who helped the team to reach a big
score. Sompal Kami was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors with 2 wickets
and giving away 24 of his 4 overs.
Chasing a target of 173 to win the match the Nepal team
struggled from the beginning by losing wickets in regular intervals. S Vesawkar was the highest scorer for the team with 18
runs and Sompal Kami with 14 runs helped the team to cross 50 runs. They were
all out for 69 runs from 17.4 over spell. Netherlands bowlers did a great job
by bowling a good line and length with no much room to play for the batsmen. Rippon
was the main pick with three wickets to his name and supported by Schelven and Meekeren
completing with two wickets each. Ever bowler who had spells got wickets for
the hosts. After this win Netherlands
are leading the 4 match series 2-0.
