Country that has the richness in culture has been questioned
for the event happening against women. It is easy to blame a girl of not
following the culture and breaking her line to live a free life. Back in 1950’s
there was a statement from a Political Guru of not needing any messenger of God
or even god who has just controlled the freedom of a community in the name of
religion. In the same way it should be said that we do not need any culture
that has no freedom for a woman. The statement is not from an illiterate of the
country but the Lawyers who are fighting for the release of the rapist. In a
country were woman goddess is prayed for getting education and money is not
giving any respect to a living woman. She is said as the one who is only fit to
work at home and not goes out to be in good positions in a company. This was
the statement given by one of the rapist who was interviewed in the documentary.
The
incident of rape happened on the 16th of December 2012 against a woman
who was back to her house after watching a movie with her male companion. She
boarded a bus that made the live of two people miserable and one to death. She
died after fighting for more than 10 days in hospital. The culprits were
arrested within a week of the incident. We have to appreciate our Police
department for a quick finding of the rapists. Delhi found a bad face as
students and many other activists came to the road and fought against the
incident and requested the government to hang the rapist. The court ordered after
a six month of session’s bench, and the youngest of the six was sent to juvenile
jail for three years. The protest continued for including the juvenile to be
hanged with the others as he knew the consequences.
As per one of the rapists, they were planning to have fun on
the 16th of December 2012 and decided to visit GB Road which is one
of the red light areas of Delhi. The six just boarded the bus and MUKESH
started to drive the bus to their enjoying destination. But, it all changed for
those when they saw a girl and a boy waiting for a bus. They took this chance
and the younger of all requested the two to board the bus as it is going to the
girls place. Both of them boarded the bus and found themselves in a horrible
position within minutes of travelling. The bus was moving around the roads of
Delhi without any stopping in the middle. After the cruel happened they just
found that she was unconscious and were thinking that she died. They through
both the girl and boy outside the bus side of a road and went back to their
houses after achieving their sexual desire and the elder of the six informed
others of not speaking about the incident with anyone in the area. But, they
were found through CCTV footage near a hotel. This footage helped the police to
find the six beasts from different parts of the state and nearby.
On the same day morning the victim was with her parents telling
her dad that there would not be any problem after 6 months as her internship
will start in days. Her father helped her with the washing of clothes and was
preparing for the internship to be started soon. She received a call from her
friend planning for a movie. She accepted the offer and took permission from
her parents as there is no time after some days because of internship. They
went to watch a movie in the evening and were returning to the house as it was
around 8:30 in the evening. No Auto drivers were ready to come to DWARA were
the girl stayed. Then they decided to catch a bus and reach the house. Both
walked to the bus stop nearby and were waiting for the bus. Yes, a bus arrived
to the stop they were waiting for that became the last travel through bus for
her life. Parents came to know about the accident and were not that shocked as
accidents happen and people go to hospital for a first aid. But, the second
call just shocked them as the doctor informed that she was raped and is been
admitted in the hospital. The doctors were also not able to believe that how
she is still alive after a brutal (there is no big words to explain) incident
against her. A rod was inserted into her personal part and many scratches in
her body.
The
Rapists were arrested and put in TIHAR Jail. One of the Culprits hanged himself
that had some good feeling for the family of the victim and the protestors who
was supporting the girl. This is because the government has not taken any
action against the unbearable rape case. Now they are still in jail enjoying
their life without any big pain that was faced by the girl and the boy who was
in the bus. These people (can be mentioned as more than animals) were living in
a slum near RK Puram, Delhi. The other view about the rapist family is very
much heart touching. They were given sentence to death from the court and were
not followed as per court order. The culprits are asked for reducing the
punishment from death to 14 years imprisonment. The Lawyers are more the old
thinking minded people who think that the rape happens due to the girls. They
should not go out of the house after 6:30 or if they need to go then they need
to be accompanied by their parents or uncle.
One of the culprits is married and has a child in his
native. Wife argues that he has not done the crime and if done it is not that
big as many have done it before and why only my husband is punished. She also
says that life a woman depends on her husband and if he is dead, then who will
protect her and the child who is young enough to know the truth. The family
members of the culprits are suffering in their village due to this brutal
incident. Mother of a rapists also says that she and her husband work hard to
make their child live an easy life, but now everything is wasted as her son has
been involved in a cruel event.
To conclude, will the government take action against the
rapists and hang them till dead or there won’t be any further actions. The
younger of all is so luck that he will be released this December after three
years imprisonment, as per the Juvenile court order.
