Highest Ducks in World Cups History

The one bad feeling for a batsman in the game is to get out for a duck. That will bring his confidence down and many not are in good touch. The record may suit the bowler than a batsman for highest ducks in World Cup matches. This is opposite to the think of a person who would think that the record holder would be a bowler rather than a batsman. He is one of the best batsmen of New Zealand who was once the best placer of One day cricket. Let us see the list of batsmen who were out for a zero for many a times:

7. Inzamam-Ul-Haq:

One of the best players of Pakistan team has played around 35 matches and has scored 4 half centuries. But the bad record to his name is the number of ducks in World Cups. He has 4 ducks out of the 33 innings he played for the Pakistan team.

33 innings – 4 ducks

6. Kris Srikkanth

The blistering opener of the Indian team has 4 ducks out of 23 innings he played for India. He has contributed many runs in the opening spot, but also has the record for highest ducks by an Indian in World Cups and 6th place in the overall list.

23 innings -4 ducks

5. AB De Villiers:

The South African captain who is in good form in this World cup has 4 ducks in World Cup’s out of the 17 matches he played. He is leading the team for the first time in the World cup taking the place of Smith who captained the South African team in the 2011 World Cup. This may be the one record he would not link to have under his belt. He is placed 5th in the list of “Highest Duck in World Cup’s".

17 innings – 4 ducks

4. Keith Arthurton:

The West Indian who was one of the all-rounder’s of the game has the record of 4 ducks out of 14 matches he played in the World Cup. He has picked wickets and also scored half centuries that gave West Indies a good result. He is in the 4th place for highest Ducks in World Cup.

13 innings – 4 ducks

3. WK McCallan:

He just played one World Cup for the Ireland team and has contributed by scoring 4 ducks out of the 9 games he played. He would have broken other’s record for more duck’s in World Cups if McCallan would have played the next World cups.

8 innings – 4 ducks

2. Ijaz Ahmed:

This middle order batsman of Pakistan who had good record with the bat also has a bad record of 5 ducks out of the 29 matches he played.  He also has opened the innings for the team with some good knocks helping the team to win. He stays in the second place for most number of duck record.

26 innings – 5 ducks

1. Nathan Astle:

The New Zealand all rounder who opened the innings for the team with some good centuries to his name is in the top spot for most number of ducks with 5 from 22 innings he played. This is actually a surprising name in the record list as he is one of the fine all rounder New Zealand has produced.
