The Great Indian Kitchen - Drama of Indian Kitchen | Movie Review | Malayalam Movie | Nimisha Sajayan | Suraj | Joe Baby

The hard hitting reality of our Kitchens in India is been shown with transparency in a 100 minute Joe Baby, directorial “The Great Indian Kitchen”. The entitlement of Indian men laying the foundation of a typical earning society that see’s female as an item to cook, wash and do all kind of household work. The society is also a big reason for this stage of women being sketched as a wonder to do household and not have their own interest to fly.

A subject that is features the nth time in the film industries around the Indian languages, this movie more practical with details of the frustration by a woman is shown clearly. The director himself has was found in a situation of helping his wife and also taking care of a new born. This period of his life influenced him to craft a story that is simple but a hard hitting reality to many people including some women of our country who are still backword in the thinking.

The movie starts with the marriage of Suraj Venjarmoodu and Nimisha Sajayan. Nimisha Sajayan a gulf return is married to a teacher who is grown in a typical society of patriarchy. A good dancer and the interest in continuing her ambition, the marriage tears Nimisha Sajayan’s interest. The torcher of dialogues mentally and physically hurts the women in Kitchen is also shown with no big background score. This no bgm scenes has made the movie more of an attraction than a high dancing or a sad bgm.

The dialogue of even the relatives when visiting the house also hurts as the words are hard hitting with a smiley face. The woman of the family needs to go through these abuses every time or sometimes in their life. But, need to reply the unnecessary dialogues with a smile with age and relation being the factor.

It won’t be good to explain the scenes of the movie as this class of patriarchy and unnecessary faith following must be a compulsory watch for the audience. The story line is an obvious sentiment for each women of the country who are in for the kitchen and household services.

This movie was released on 15th January in one of the Malayalam OTT streaming platform Neestream. The movie has already aired in one of the Malayalam entertainment channel Asianet. This 100 minute movie has at least more scenes that tells why we need a change in our own home than a society.

To conclude, the movie is a classic by itself and a must watch for not only Kerala audience, but, also for the Indian audience who is having a same ideal mind with this manhood show out of the kitchen or household service.
