The terrible landscape in
Pettimudi hills at Rajamala in Munnar, Kerala has resulted in 13 people’s life
and trapping of more than 70 individuals. The rescue workers are in place and
working hard to save the life of the trapped people in the area. It is
mentioned by the rescue workers that, a church and four lanes of the quarters
are buried under mud. Ten people have been rescued so far, as more are being
missing in the region. This landslide happened when people were sleeping in the
quarters, early hours of Friday. The problem now faced by the rescue workers is
of the Periyavara bridge washed away. The slight a good news is that,
construction of temporary Periyavara bridge is underway.
