The family drama flicks may find some of the cliché moments
that make you more dramatic and boring. But, there is a change in the style of
film making with family flicks without any unnecessary love story to make the
movie more entertaining. When you are on to a journey of true stories there won’t
be any dancing or action sequence, but
will be a normal life incidence added to the movie with a little of melodrama
and not more of unwanted stuffs. This is very much suitable for the released Malayalam
movie of last week Jacobinte Swargarajyam written and directed by Vineeth
Sreenivasan. The movie is based on true incident happened to one of his NRI
friend. This is converted to a story with some interesting added scenes that
can make the audience inspired and think about their life. Yes, as said this is
an inspirational story of an NRI Malayalam who is settled in Dubai.
The movie starts with Jacob walking through the sand
of Dubai with his son Jerry. He explains to his son that this was Dubai before
and now with the hard work of many people Dubai has become a developed country
with buildings all over. He also refers the place to be a developed one in
years to come as other places in Dubai. But, the son is not interested in
this and shows his disappointment by complaining “why to spend a morning just
to visit this place”. We might go with the son at this movement as who will
like to be in an empty desert in an early morning walk. The meaningless word
from Jacob in the beginning becomes more meaningful in the later part of the
show. The story is an old wine family drama with some refreshing movements that
makes you sit for more than 2 hours in the theater without any boredom.
The self driven businessman Jacob, his supportive wife Shirley, elder son Jerry, the dissident son
Philip, the younger one Chris, the medicinal hopeful girl Ammu, the well-wisher
uncle, the lovable driver each of these characters are given equal and heavy roles as per the situation. The main
hour of the film, which splendidly sets up the Jacobs' sort of family, in spite
of drive us with consistent festival movies, magnificently turns each of them
in tasteful edges. The snippets of holding the supper times at the feasting
table, the ambitious car drive, the father and son holding over a glass of wine
in the terrace, the unavoidable relationship between them are so natural and
grounded, that we are gradually dragged into the family's warm progress. We
begin to really administer to them. There is no denying the enchantment, this
kind of unhurried character improvement before organizing of the real clash,
confers to the last part of the film.
The second part of the film, which gives every one
of the open doors for audacious acting and parental estimations, is shockingly
limited and free of swelling up of characters. The sentimental
track is brushed away unquestionably with moments of graceful scenes. Characters
don't make a special effort for the purpose of excitement. Nivin plays Jerry without
lifting a finger, and Renji Panicker efforlessly slips into the shoes of his
enthusiastic father. In any case, more than these two, it is Lakshmi
Ramakrishnan playing Shirley and Sreenath Bhasi playing Philip, who get the "astonishment"
minutes, Shirley winds up in the police headquarters in Dubai one night,
drained and powerless. We anticipate that she will separate. Be that as it may,
the tables are turned on the minute in a matter of seconds. Philip, as far as
it matters for him, gets a marvelous piece when he is unnecessarily rebuked for
being pontless in attempting circumstances, and he later discloses to Jerry why
he didn't hit back on the event. Another scene including the old friend
and a Mercedes Benz driver makes you fall into tears.
To conclude, the movie is said to be an old story
line with a new content of writing. This has made the movie more attractive and
boring less entity that has pushed the audience to the theaters nearby. It is a
must watch movie with inspirational touch making you more attached to it.
