Somerset
captain AC Thomas won the toss and elected to field first in a good batting
wicket. The wicket of CAJ Meschede fell early in the innings that put the
batting side under pressure. But then some good partnerships in the middle
helped the team to post a total of 170 runs. CA Ingram was the game changer for
the team with a score of 96 runs from 62 balls with 9 fours and 6 six. He was
supported by GG Wagg in the end by adding 33 runs to the total from 30 balls he
faced with 4 boundaries.
Chasing a target of 171 runs to win the Somerset openers could not give the team a
good start with the first wicket falling early. The middle order played a good
innings by scoring runs quickly and also having small partnerships. They were
very close to the target, but every thing changed with wickets started to fall
in the finals overs and could reach only 167 runs losing eight wickets in 20
overs. The opponents won the match by 3 runs.
Socre card:
Glamorgan: 170/4
Somerset:
167/8
Glamorgan winning the match by three runs gaining two points
in the table.
