Orange Cap Holders of Indian Premier League’s



Indian Premier League ended with Mumbai winning the match against the Chennai Super Kings. It was a high scoring match with Mumbai scoring a mammoth 202 runs and set the target of 203 for a win. This score was achieved by some good batting by the Mumbai batsmen. So, batsmen play important role in a victory or even high score. Let some see the list of Orange cap winners of IPL seasons.

1. Shaun Marsh:



The left handed batsman played for Kings XI Punjab and was the main person of the team to score runs and help win the match. But they could not make it to the big stage in the 2008 IPL season. But he won the Orange Cap in the year 2008.

2. Mathew Hayden:



The big Australian was the highest scorer in the second edition of the Indian Premier League. He showed some class by scoring runs through his stylish shorts and winning the Orange cap in the year 2009.

3. Sachin Tendulkar



The God of Indian Cricket Sachin Tendulkar played for Mumbai as an Opener and also played in the middle order in some matches. His game showed to the world that he is fit to be a T20 player after proving his skills in other two versions. He was the highest scorer for the year 2010.

4. Chris Gayle:



The Caribbean big hitter was the player who played less matches in the series and scored more runs than any other in the tournament. He was top in strike rate with was over 150. He was the winner of Orange Cap in the year 2011.

The West Indian batsman was picked by the RCB after he was dropped by KKR franchise. This man hit some big scores for the team. It was a great innings from this batsman. He had a strong strike rate compared to others in the series.

6. Michael Hussey



The Australian middle order batsman played some great innings for the Chennai team by scoring runs in each match he played. Mr. Cricket was one of the great findings after Michael Beven from Australia. Both these players showed the world that we can win a match even by rotating strikes and hit a boundary from an odd ball. Hussey ended up winning the Orange cap in 2013.

7. Robin Uthappa



Robin Uthappa was in great form of his life by playing some good innings for his team. He played for KKR and helped them enter the finals and win the cup for the second time. The force of attraction for the Kolkata team was Uthappa who won the Orange cap.

8. David Warner



The captain of the ship may be the correct world for this Australian who lead the Sun risers with some runs on board for his team. HE scored more than 65% of his teams score in the eighth edition of the tournament. The team could not make it to the second round but this opening batsman won the Orange cap by playing less games than other players in the list.
